Setting up your own custom domain on Owlstown has 3 steps.
  1. Buy your custom domain.
  2. Create CNAME record that points to hosting.owlstown.com
  3. Enter your custom domain on Owlstown.

1. Buy your custom domain.

🦘
If you already have your own custom domain, you can skip this part and head to step 2.
I recommend buying a domain name from one of these domain registrars:Β Namecheap or Google Domains.
  • Their prices are among the cheapest.
  • They are easy to use.
  • They don’t try to upsell you as much as other domain name registrars.
If you need ideas for your custom domain, use the Owlstown Domain Name Search.

2. Create CNAME record that points to hosting.owlstown.com

Visit the website of your domain registrar.

You will create a CNAME record that points to hosting.owlstown.com.

For example, if your domain name is www.example.com, your CNAME record will look like this.
Subdomain: www
Type: CNAME
Domain name: hosting.owlstown.com
Different domain registrars will have different instructions on how to create a CNAME.
Here are more links to creating CNAME records for different domain registrars:
If your domain registrar is not on the list above, let me know via email ([email protected]) or Twitter.

3. Enter your custom domain on Owlstown.

Go to the Domain name section from the Owlstown Editor. Select the Custom tab.
Click the Edit custom domain button and enter your custom domain.
Click the Update button.
